Complaint Free...sort of...
So, this week we had a team retreat. We did several different team building exercises that were interesting and hopefully we accomplished the goal of actually building our team. I especially enjoyed the StrengthsFinder stuff. Man, oh, man they had me pegged.
One of the things we did was talk about how God speaks strongly to us about how we are to quit our complaining and arguing. My boss challenged us to go without complaining for 21 days...that's how long it is supposed to take to form a new habit. He gave us these plastic bracelets to wear and each time we complain, we have to switch the bracelet to the other arm. On average, most people have to switch their bracelets about 15 times a day. So far, I haven't even made it past 10:30am before I've had to switch.
It's sobering to realize just how much we complain on a daily basis. As I look at my last post, I'm almost embarrassed to write this one. We are all so blessed...really. And even in the worst circumstances, isn't Christ enough for us?
So, we'll see just how long it takes me to get to 21 straight days without complaining. I will tell you this, I take more time now to think before I speak. I'm much more aware of my words and my tone.
By the way if anyone wants to join me in the quest, you can get your own bracelet at www.acomplaintfreeworld.org.

I think I need bands on both my wrists and my ankles. This time of year I am always struck by how UNGRATEFUL I am and am reminded how very blessed I am.
