Sometimes God Says No...

I realize that God is sovereign. And I understand that He can see the big picture better than I can. But it doesn't always erase the sting of getting a big fat NO to something I have asked for.

A bruised ego can only really be nursed by the knowledge that God knows me better than I know myself. He created me, for crying out loud! And knowing that does seem to ease the pain, just a bit.

Live a life without regrets. That's what I'm trying to do. And when you go out on a limb, and ask for something a little risky, sometimes God just says no. A closed door is still an answer, even if it's not the one you were hoping for.

Sorry to hear that the answer was "no".
I can remember being in the exact same place you are right now...about six years ago. "No" hurts. It stinks. And I definitely have strong opinions about your situation.
But all that really matters, I guess, is that you know how loved you are (by the One who matters most) and by a WHOLE stinking bunch of other people, too!
Much love to you...

Seriously Friend--thank you for this post. Thanks for your candidness. We always quote when Job said, "Blessed be Your name," but we often forget there's about 20 some odd chapters after that where Job's at a loss as to what the heck God's up to...and Job says as much!

I'm convinced it's from the depths of our candor and truthfulness with our hurts and frustrations that He begins to heal and work in ways we'd never imagined.

I love you and miss you! Let's do lunch soon. :)

I choose to believe that "no" often means "NOt yet" ---sometimes we're just to hurried to listen to the rest of the statement.

I so appreciate your honesty and openness. I love you, friend and CAN'T WAIT TO SEE YOU THIS WEEK!
