Valentine Ramblings...

I must apologize for my recent "blog neglect" issues. It seems like the past week has been a blur. Even in my down time, my mind has been whirling.

Friday night was SAAPGON...or in English, a big ol' sleepover for 4th-5th graders. We had over 700 kids here. Talk about craziness. Someone asked me today, "how do you keep that many kids under control?" The simple answer is...you don't. It was organized chaos for most of the night. But, the kids had a blast, no one was seriously injured, and we all came out of it with the realization that it doesn't come around again for another whole year. PRAISE THE LORD!!

On a personal note, today is Valentine's Day. Sigh. I used to hate this day. I used to dread it for weeks and then grouch all day long. I even wore all black one year. My how times have changed. I don't dread it anymore. I actually kind of look forward to it. I got a rose this morning from my sweet friend Steve...I had a luncheon party today with some fun Guest Services friends...I'm going after work to see the kiddos for a bit and steal some slobbery Valentine kisses...and I'm having dinner at Molly's with friends. All in all, it's a pretty good day. And I even had a piece of dessert today called "better than sex" cake. It was some pretty amazing cake, but this Valentine's Day, I guess I'll have to take their word on that one.
