Nothing is ever easy...
Have you ever noticed how nothing is ever easy? I've been in the midst of new home craziness over the past week and it continues to amaze me how the smallest project can turn into the biggest fiasco in the blink of an eye.
For example, I decided I wanted to paint my bedroom. Some friends and I got a good first coat of blue paint (we'll call this Color #1) on the walls, but didn't quite have enough for the trim. So, Shelli offered to go get another gallon of paint while we were busy getting the moving van loaded. When she got the paint back home again and opened it, it was OBVIOUSLY the wrong color (we'll call this Color #2). The worker at Home Depot had mixed it wrong. So, Shelli took the can back and asked for the right color. Of course, instead of admitting they had made a mistake and giving her a new can of the right color, they decided to try and "fix" the can with the wrong color in it (we'll call this Color #3). Can you see a trainwreck brewing?
Well, the "fixed" color looked right when Shelli got it back home, so she and Sara went to work on a 2nd coat with Color #3. All is well until somewhere along the way, Shelli began using the original can of Color #1 to work on some trim areas. It was difficult to tell when the paint was wet that these two cans are not exactly the same. However, once dry, it is quite obvious that we now have 2 colors of blue on the wall.
So, in order to fix this, we really should go back to Color #3 and cover the trim that was done in Color #1. HOWEVER, when the girls finished working, they were being space conscious, so they combined what was left of Color #1 and Color #3 into one can. Now we have what I like to call Color #4.
I'm quite certain that the only way to correct all of the madness is start over completely with Color #5. Sigh. I'm exhausted just thinking about it. Like I said, nothing is ever easy.

The cabinets are great. Everyone loves them!
I'm still missing about 6 screws though, so there still not all up. Again, nothing is ever easy!!
Aww...Congrats on the new house Kar-Kar! How exciting!! I can't wait to come and visit (and I'd love to help in whatever way I can).
Let's catch up soon! :)
Yeah, so Shelli told me the "good news" about the paint last night. I'm SOO SORRY we screwed up Karla. Know that I will be around to help with Color #5. Stupid paint guy!
