The Best of Both Worlds...

I realized yesterday that I am in a very unique place in my life. Of course, I'm talking about Valentine's Day...the day that single people everywhere dread for 364 days out of the year. But, I gotta tell you...I had a great day.

Let's get one thing clear right up front. I have a boyfriend. There. I said it. Corey and I are a couple. I'm not exactly sure when it became official, but it is. And I am very happy. He is amazing. And he was definitely "on his game" this year for Valentine's Day. He sent me gifts, a very sweet card, called, emailed...did all the things a boy should do. I could not have asked for more.

On the flip side...he lives in Texas, and I live in Kentucky. So, except for the rare occasions when we are together, I am still very much living the "single girl" life. And Valentine's Day is a day when single girls have to band together to make it through.

So, I got to go out last night with a couple of my very sweet and wonderful single girlfriends. We went to a paint your own pottery place and then out to dinner. We had a great time just hanging out and laughing. I love those girls dearly. I could not have asked for more.

Like I said earlier, I am in a very unique place in my life. And even though I can't wait for the time when Corey and I can be in the same place all the time, I am not wishing away my life right now. I am living the best of both worlds. I am uniquely and wonderfully blessed. And I don't want to miss any of it.
