Spring Break...

Do you remember the days of Spring Break? For those non-teachers in the world, Spring Break is really just a fond memory of days gone by. Most of the planet doesn't get a week vacation in the middle of the most beautiful weather of the year. But, this year, I actually got to take some time with my family for a Spring Break trip.

Mom, Dad, Sis and I went to Atlanta for a few days last week to help my beautiful niece celebrate her 1st birthday! Admit it, she looks an awful lot like her Aunt Karla...doesn't she??

It was a good trip...but of course it never seems like enough time. I must admit that one of the highlights in Atlanta was my first ever trip to IKEA! That place is ENORMOUS! Big fun was had by all and much money was spent on decor for my new place. I highly recommend it to you.

The remainder of my Spring Break was spent back home. The fam stayed with me through Easter and we basically did a whole lot of nothing (except eating, of course). Just piddling around in my new house working on things when the mood would strike.

I would like to offer some words of wisdom for those out there who are willing to listen:

1) NEVER, NEVER, NEVER wait until Good Friday to get your Honeybaked Ham. That place was a MADHOUSE!!

2) Krispy Kreme donuts on Easter Sunday morning seems like a good idea...until you sit in the drive through for 25 minutes behind everyone else who thought it was a good idea for Krispy Kreme donuts on Easter Sunday morning.

All in all, it was a good week. Spring Break lives on...

What a cutie! And, YES, I do see a bit of Kar-Kar in there. She's adorable. Glad you got spend some time with the family. How are those cupboards? And the blue paint? What about the red in the kitchen...how is it looking? So many questions, guess I'll have to get back up there soon, huh? Miss you -- let's chat.
