I Stand Corrected...

Allow me to apologize. I was "gently" reminded that the highlight of my day on Saturday was NOT that I went downtown to play frisbee. Not anywhere close!

The highlight was, in fact, attending Miss Caroline's 1st birthday extravaganza! I'm not kidding when I say extravaganza, either. It was amazing fun. Under the big top we arrived, the backyard set with games to play and prizes to win. (I must tell you that I soundly beat a 5 year old at the "Grand Prize Game," but did not recieve any prize tickets for my accomplishments.) I'm not bitter.

Inside, the whole place was draped to look like we were actually inside a circus tent. My dear sweet friends...you are completely out of your minds...it was awesome! I ate hotdogs, cotton candy, sugar popcorn, cracker jacks...and even had room for cake and ice cream. That's what I call a party!

The birthday girl was incredibly sweet and laughed her head off while devouring the tiny birthday cake in front of her. Hilarious. And Carson was a wild man...darting from room to room, checking out all the fun happening in every corner.

In the midst of all the fun, I was once again reminded of what I know to be entirely true. I love my life. I love that I can trust in my God to know what is best for me and to lead me down the paths He has chosen for me. I love that I can go to Target on a moment's notice, take a nap when I want one, or run downtown for an impromptu game of frisbee with my friends. But I would give it all up..in an instant..for a life filled with slobbery kisses, Sesame Street, trips to the park to see the ducks, and crazy 1st birthday parties. Someday...
